2025 Take and Make Challenge

Attendees to the 2024 Show and Sale were issued a creative challenge. Take one of the offered lapel or stick pin "blanks," make either a brooch or a pin from it, or, deconstruct it and use the pieces and parts to make something to-scale and bring it to the 202d Show for display. Those who accepted the challenge were entered in The People’s Choice Award and were given free entry to the Sale.

2025 Take and Make People's Choice Award Winner

Who Wants S'More? Taking a stick pin, this clever attendee deconstructed it to make a yummy one-inch scale evening picnic scene. The stick part of the stick pin has been turned into the roasting stick for the marshmallows while the round flat head of the stick pin has been cut away, painted, and used as plate for the finished s'mores. The s'mores look so good even a local turtle has turned up for some!

2025 Lapel pin and Brooch Creations

The Littlest Christmas AngelThis little angel is the perfect accent for any coat or shirt during the holiday season. And so clever! See the loop of white behind the halo? It's elastic! So this little angle may be hooked over any size button!
Cannister Creations The butterfly backs of pins have been deconstructed and recommissioned as the tops of 1:12 scale cannisters perfect for any kitchen. The stick part of the pin has been flipped upside down and used as the center support for candle, the actual pin serving as the wick.
Pizza Pizazz Who doesn't love pizza? This stick pin has become a 1:12 scale pizza shovel, perfect for adding that final touch to a tiny brick oven. It also makes a delicious decorative pin.
Faux Fishing Creating just the front of a bait and tackle shop, this piece deconstructs several elements of pins to create the details of the store front. The white light hanging over the door is actually the butterfly back of a pin with pearl used for the light. The fishing hook that was part of the free take-and-make pins has been used both as a plant hanger hook and as an actual hook on the "gone fishing" sign.
Bunny Wonder Made from tiny pieces of paper, this little snowy meadow sits atop a stick pin. The flat top of the stick pin has been built out, giving the scene an incredible amount of depth. Not to mention, cuteness, with just the right amount of glitter to make this a festive addition to any outfit this holiday season.
The Life AquaticThe movie The Life Aquatic, a comedy that pays homage to French diving pioneer Jacques Cousteau, has become a cult classic since its release in 2004. Now, it's been immortalized in miniature! Complete with teeny-tiny stick pins, this collage captures all the vital parts of the movie as various pins that have been displayed in a shadow box frame.
Merry Merry Celebrate the Christmas season with this lovely little vignette. A stick pin has been decorated with tiny snowflakes, making it the perfect topper for the pine tree behind Santa.
