oCTOBER IS NATIONAL MINATURE MONTH

Every fall attention is brought to the fine art of to-scale design during National Miniature Month. Special events go on around the country as well as right here in Mid-Ohio! AL
Get Inspired. Get Involved. Give it a Try!

name day

A national event, The National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME) sponsors a special project for all NAME clubs the first Saturday in October. The project is different every year and available only to NAME members and NAME clubs. Along with the national project, the CMS day typically includes door prizes, raffles, a silent auction, and an amazing potluck lunch. Not only does CMS spend the day making some our favorite things, but eating our favorite foods!

Fun Day

CMS has incorporated a "fun day" into NAME Day. If you're not particularly interested in the NAME Day project, or, if you already have your hands full with another project you're still welcome to come to NAME Day and make it a day of miniature fun.
Everyone hears miniature and they think why would that be a national month? It's because to-scale miniature work is an overlooked art form. People need to see new things to find new things to love. The national miniature month seeks to bring the amazing world of to-scale fine art to a larger audience.

Sunbury Library Miniature craft class - 10/11/2025

This year the Sunbury Library did a miniature community outreach with a very special class on making a miniature scene in teacup. Participants, who ranged in age from 8 to 80, could choose supplies for a theme based on one of the four seasons or bring supplies to make their own vignette. The results, some of which are below. are amazing! Which goes to show anyone can be a minaturists, it just take a little time, a lttle patience, and a little willingness to try.
